Much appreciation

September 2nd, 2010

While eating at Hometown Pizza today for lunch, I had a number of voters coming over to my table to discuss the upcoming election.  It is never a bother to listen to your concerns and issues.  There were several more requests for signs, and even more for door hangers and cards.  We appreciate the interest and questions!  Several veterans were kind enough as well to join Team Nelson County.   The word is spreading and getting out in a big way.  Thank you!

In the coming weeks, we will be making some changes to the website, so keep an eye out for these announcements soon!  With so much going on, I want to also thank all the supporters taking time out of their lives to return calls, make calls, walk around knocking on doors, and so many other activities.  This campaign is truly a team effort.  Again, thank you!

Oktoberfest 2010

August 31st, 2010

The invites are in, planning is taking place already, and the brautwurst are on order.  Oktoberfest 2010 is set for October 9th at 3pm till late into the evening.  We will have plenty of fun for everyone such as a bouncer, cornhole, karaoke, and much much more.  Family and friends are taking jobs during the event to ensure everything goes smoothly.  The invite is for family and friends, and this year for supporters and voters who want to meet Pete and his family.  We do ask for a RSVP for planning, and please feel more than free to attend.  This is the largest Oktoberfest Party in Nelson County.  In order to make the event better, please bring a side dish or beverage.  The brautwurst are provided.  Again, hope to see you there!!!

Order your signs before they are gone

August 30th, 2010

Despite the large number of signs ordered for the campaign, the requests keep piling up.  Just had a solid supporter get a bunch of signs to fill multiple requests in his area.  Get your request in before they run out!  Thank you.

My schedule is being filled more with small party invitation, along with the standard events.  Four Community Job Interviews are coming online with Oktoberfest being another major event.  I will note that Oktoberfest 2011 is an event Chasi and I have every year for family and friends.  Given this is a political year, people wanting to meet my family are invited to the event.  We would just ask if you people could give us a RSVP.  This is not an open event for people wanting to politic or cause issues.  We will have a lot of family oriented events, so invite a friends and family to have a great time.

There is a lot going on in the next few months, so feel free to be a part of history and a part of a winning team for Nelson County.

Another great week

August 27th, 2010

The week ended with a record fund raising effort, along with multiple supporters putting up signs across the County.  We have another list of signs for next week, so I will be on the road again soon.  My schedule is busy for the next few weeks with requests and meetings with voters in various communities.  But, I will make time for additional emails, calls and requests.  We just pulled a dozen more volunteers to the campaign, with the bulk wanting to help with door to door, but with one volunteer taking control of the call lists, along with another augmenting our computer and technology team.  We are extremely blessed to have so many people helping us in so many ways.  The campaign is open to new ideas, along with support in traditional ways.  Thank you!

Centers of Gravities

August 24th, 2010

With so much support coming in daily, it is becoming hard for the teams to maintain campaign activities without getting behind.  We have more supporters coming online after a strong start to a big week.  More signs are going up, and we are promising to catch up soon.  But as we get done with one list, another quickly gets longer.  As we put up signs, people stop and ask for another one.  BUSY!  This is good, but a lot of work.  Thank you for keeping us all busy.  September and October are big months, and we appreciate all the support in reaching out to various towns, communities and voters.

As part of a sustained and continued campaign, we will go into a number of areas, activities, and voter inspired actions.  We take nothing for granted and will pursue any and all events.  A voter today told me, “You made a strong impression on our daughter because you are genuine.”  This honesty comes from my service as a military person and federal agent.  Our campaign is about sending a clear message from Nelson County voters to our good old boys, “We want our government back, and we are taking it back in November”.  We are tired of corruption, and want honest government from our leaders.  I will take a pay cut, and that bothers them even more.  Leadership requires leaders to act and just not to talk.  I can feel the energy, and people are getting excited about change in November.  Thanks for being a part of this excitement.

Signs going up all across Nelson County

August 23rd, 2010

The day started off nice enough with a supporter out of Bloomfield wanting to discuss helping the campaign.  Later on putting up a sign for a voter, another pulled over and asked for one, which led to another one, etc, etc.  Whew, a lot of work.  Then going down to Chaplin, there were requests for more signs.  Once I got phone coverage again, my phone had multiple requests for more signs in Woodlawn, the Melody Lake are, 245, 31, and New Haven.  It is official, I am now behind with getting the signs out.  I appreciate any support in getting them up, along with the continued effort with door to door.  The teams are doing their best, but the requests are coming in faster than we can deal with them.  Thank you for the support and patience, and I promise to get to your calls, emails and requests as soon as possible.

The signs are in, and the request are piling up

August 21st, 2010

UPDATE:  We are getting calls of people tearing signs down already.  Be professional and positive.  If you happen to catch someone, call the police or if caught on video, send it to me.  We do have some decoy signs set up with camera surveillance to catch these little people.  Thanks for the help in rooting all more of this Good Old Boy corruption.

I was trying to wait on putting up signs, but there are too many requests for them.  If you need a yard sign, drop me a line and I will stop by to put up.  Also if you live on a larger road, I can put up one of the larger campaign signs.  We are getting a nice number of sign requests from businesses.  Many thanks to the teams who are compiling sites and supporters all across the County.  The message is getting out, and the People are excited about getting honest and professional government.  Please take the time to join a team and help the campaign.

And yes, Oktoberfest is being planned out as I type.  Announcement is coming soon!

Yard Signs!!!

The message is positive and professional

August 19th, 2010

From all of the campaign stops, activities and feedback with calls, stop bys and emails, the message is loud and clear from the people of Nelson County:  we want a candidate who listens, responds to the needs of the People, and who has the resume and experience to serve in a productive and positive manner.  All the fighting in our government is distracting and unproductive, so I propose we focus on ethical leadership with the leadership at the top, build a pro-business environment for all of Nelson County, and enhance our commuity with more facilities such as a Community Center.

Voters are being very clear with me, say what you will do, and then do what you say.  I put online my financial forms, education file, military experience, and gave access to the media to my credit report and criminal background check.  Ethical and moral government are set by the high standards I learned in the military and as a federal agent.  How can we expect good government when our incumbant politicians will not put their information out for public review?  With my openness, I will do the same when running OUR government.  This is a promise.  And yes, I have made the pledge to take a 10% pay cut and give the money back to the United Way, Red Cross, and our new Community Center.  We must expect more from our leaders, and demand a better return on their $90,000 pay check.  Thanks for taking the time check out my website, drop me a call or email, or better yet, meet me in public at an event.

Campaign rally is coming soon

August 17th, 2010

Every year, Chasi and I have an Oktoberfest Party for our family and friends.  This year we are expanding it to new friends and supporters.  Although we are adding a political aspect to the event, Meet Pete, the focus is primarily on family, friends, and good times.  Please keep an eye out for a future announcement.

Our teams are getting great response in the various communities.  Many people are holding tight for November in order to vote for change.  As I tell people all the time, if someone pressures you for support, just smile and agree.  It is only you and God in the voting booth, so vote your heart and mind.  These are exciting times and our campaign is making an impact on the business as usual deal.

Thanks for all the support, and hope to see you soon around the County.

Pete

All Fired Up and Ready to Go

August 12th, 2010

As the weather gets hotter, we are getting a much hotter response to the campaign.  With people from all walks of life joining the campaign, I am constantly excited and motivated to take calls, return emails, go to public events, and meet people around Nelson County.  The word is spreading in a big way, but that is due to our supporters.  Thank you!

So much is going on, but I must take time to ask for volunteers to help out with the upcoming activities and events.  We have several campaign initiatives needing help, but we are also open to new ideas from supporters.  Take the time to be a part of history in Nelson County, 233 4585 home number.

I will be at Downhome BBQ for a small meeting of Veterans for Pete.  Many of them are going around talking to veterans, but a few wanted to hook up for breakfast.  Feel free to come by and join us.  Everyone is invited, veteran and non-veteran.  Some other groups like Educators for Pete have some ideas coming up soon, so keep watch of the website.

We appreciate all the support and volunteers!  And yes, I promise to stop by, and return all calls and emails.  The message is clear to our County Government, the People of Nelson County want their government back!  We want ethical government from the top, a pro-Business environment, and a community center.  Hope to hear and see you soon!!!
